MARIONETTE FOLDS

These downward folds that originate from the corners of the mouth are sometimes referred to as puppet folds or sad folds. They tend to make the face look drawn, fatigued or aged especially if accompanied by a downturned mouth. Marionette folds tend to occur gradually as they deepen over time. Genetic considerations such as facial features, muscle action and sun damage may also play a role.

Dr Joanna Day is extremely proficient in treating these folds painlessly using a filler injection (Restylane) to provide immediate improvement which is long lasting but not permanent. Following your procedure the treated region will appear more rested and restored. Permanent fillers/implants in this region are not recommended by Dr Day.
