DEEP SMILE FOLDS
Deep smile folds (also known as nasolabial folds) are the large visible folds that run from the corner of the nose to the corner of the mouth. Facial structure and genetic factors partially determine the prominence and depth of nasolabial folds. Although they are more exaggerated when smiling as aging occurs, they may appear more permanent and deeper and contribute to a "sagging" appearance, causing the face to look tired or drawn.
Dr. Joanna Day offers very effective non-invasive procedures for individuals wishing to reduce the appearance of deep smile folds. Following assessment of facial features by Dr. Day, Restylane is commonly used to gently restore and reduce the deeper nasolabial folds thereby refreshing the appearance and providing a "lift" visually to the face. Restylane (hyaluronic acid) is a Swedish-made filler that is safe, non-permanent, hypoallergenic, long-lasting and of non-animal origin.
Following careful numbing of the skin, Restylane is expertly injected by Dr. Day below the surface of the skin and provides natural "filling" of the smile folds. This treatment is safe, effective, painless, requires no downtime and can be performed quickly (even during a lunch break)! Dr. Joanna Day is one of the most experienced dermatologists in North America performing Restylane injections and will tailor treatment to your personal needs. Results are technique dependent and Dr. Day has been providing this artful skill to countless extremely satisfied individuals over many years.
